Low Key Weekend...

I always work on Saturdays, so my Friday night are normally boring. I had a wonderful day at work Saturday and I wanted to try a new place for dinner. We went to a place called Farringdon's Bistropub. It was so cute in there! They renovated an older house and have local artwork on the walls. I love abstract paintings and they had some really interesting ones. They had a cute bar, but we didn't venture in. DH accidentally left his wallet, so date night was on me and he was under 21 for the night. Everything was very cozy. I had the tile fish with leeks and risotto. The risotto was a little undercooked, but decent. The fish wasn't very hot and everything needed salt. I would NEVER ask for salt, but dammit I really needed it. I was very embarrassed to ask for it, but it made the dish perfect and they warmed it up for me. I never send things back, but she could see through my fake smile and "oh, everything is great". She offered and I let her. DH ate the shepherd's pie, which I surprised to see in this type of place, but you forget it's an actual bistro-pub, so I guess that fits. It was presented in an unusual way and tasted pretty good. We had Duck Confit Nachos, which I liked. I had two wines that were amazing! I haven't had a merlot in probably 2 years? It was very good, but not too dry and very smooth. I started out with a Pinot Noir that was amazing. I can't remember the entire name of it, but we plan on going back. That wine is definitely one I need at the house.
After dinner, we were so exhausted. After taking the dogs out, we fell asleep. I swear we're the oldest young people alive. It might have been 11? We slept in yesterday, even though it would have been a good idea to get up and go to church. We went to lunch at Andolini's pizza, which ended basically being a waste of our time and money.

So, I'm almost finished with Breaking Dawn from the Twilight Saga. It's so strange. I love the series, but I'm rolling my eyes more and more. Sometimes, it's just so stupid. I normally don't do science fiction, but DH got me these for Christmas. Like I said, I enjoy them. I DO have an Edward bookmark, tyvm! I just think the books are weird and Stephanie Meyer might be a little douchey. One thing I do love about her, is her choice of music. I've been a fan of Muse and Spoon for a long time. She always acknowledges them in her books. I can't believe it's taken me so long to read the last two. I just put it off for so long. I think I might read The Shack next. DH wants me to read the Sookie Stackhouse books, but I don't know how much longer I do the vampire thing.

Update on Deuce: I took him to the vet for a few booster shots. It turns out he DOES have an infection of some sort. It may be his diet, which I highly doubt, considering that he's on Wellness Large Puppy food. I'm feeding him the best food I know of, so I doubt it's his diet. The vet said he has crystals and some red blood cells in his urine, which is very uncommon in puppies. He's on antibiotics to rule out a bacterial infection. He seems to be peeing 14 or 15 times a day, rather than 30. The downside is the diarrhea. I had to clean up a huge mess yesterday. The poor thing must not feel well, because he doesn't have a huge appetite. That's really weird for him. I just made him some rice, so he'll be eating rice until he starts feeling better. I'll keep you updated on his progress, as we go back to the vet in a few days.
