LONG update! Happy Heart Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! DH and I spent our weekend in Myrtle Beach, where we have a family-owned beach house. I took Friday and Saturday off, so Thursday night I went out with a friend. We had a semi-wild time, which was much needed.

The picture above is of Divine Prime, which is located at The Market Commons in MB. We ate there are few weeks ago and knew this was where we wanted to spend our V-day evening. We haven't eaten there for under $200 dollars the past two times, so I suppose we'll keep this a special occasion only restaurant! Here are the details of our evening:

Dh and I did a bit of shopping the weekend before for my outfit and the day of for his. I didn't intend to buy something new, but I found the cutest LBD for 8 dollars. Seriously, 8 bucks?! It's short with a bit of silver trim around the bottom and the neckline, which has an opening in the back. It sounds tacky, but I swear it's really sexy and simple. I was shopping for a slip, while DH found himself a nice corduroy blazer that was on sale. Long story short, we both looked pretty good :)

Dinner was at 7:30. We had the lobster bisque as a starter. It's the best thing I've ever tasted! It's served with brie cheese on a crostini with a lump of lobster meat. They take the soup and pour it on top of the crostini, upon serving it to you.

The brought me a single, long stem rose with a card that was hand-written in calligraphy. It wished me a happy v-day from the GM and owners. Very nice! After they gave me the rose and we'd finished our soup, they brought out a champagne sorbet to cleanse the palet. It was a nice touch, and nice to see they don't do the same one every night. We had peach last time.

We decided to go with the special, although I wish we would've just eaten steaks and duck-mashed potatoes plus one crab leg, like last time. Special: a 1.5 lbs of live Maine Lobster, out of their tank in the kitchen, plus Chateaubriand for 2. I've only had lobster tail, so I was very nervous about attempting to eat an entire lobster, which frankly, grossed me out. It came with purple fingerling potatoes, 2 demi-glaces and butter. The food was good, but we were much happier with our same order the first time.

After dinner, we had a piece of white chocolate, mouse cake and an after dinner drink. Once we got the check, they brought out 3 huge, chocolate covered strawberries. I cannot believe we were there from 7:30-10. We normally do take our time, but our waiter was running a bit behind. We were fine with it though :)

This place is amazing and if you ever have the chance, you MUST go to Divine Prime! The wine selection is amazing, as well!

After dinner, we went to see a live band. We had a great evening to say the least!

Friday night, we ate at the new Tommy Bahama Cafe. We dropped way too much money in there, for food that wasn't amazing, but decent. Also, we discovered a place where the locals eat and had the most amazing burgers, onion rings, an Reuben EVER! Two can eat lunch under 10 bucks and drink 3 dollars pitchers of beer!

Okay, so all we ever do at the beach house is eat and shop, lol. If it wasn't so cold, we'd have been on the beach.

It was nice to get away from the dogs... our friends kept Duce, who is throwing up bits of food here and there. They accidentally let him eat some of their other dog's food, apparently. He's clear of his bacterial infection, thank God. He goes back to the vet tomorrow for more booster shots, and I believe he gets a rabies vaccine tomorrow. Fun!

I'm also supposed to go to work, even though I'm off. Massage therapist and esthetician both want their hair done, and I'm booked up for the next 2 weeks. I told them we could trade on my day off... I get a full body, with hot stones and a facial and call it a day!

Okay, last but not least, DH seems to be doing really good on this new medicine. His sex drive is back and it's almost annoying. I'm not going to complain though!
